Yash Bhansali is an undergraduate at Yale University majoring in Economics and Statistics. He is presently working as an Investment Banking analyst at NewOak Capital – a boutique firm in NYC on their structured finance team. This past summer, Bhansali interned at KPMG on their Financial Restructuring desk, at a time when bankruptcy and global distress were at an all-time high. He has always fostered a passion for finance and business and has previously interned with ICBC and Neuberger Berman. Yash was the CIO of the Dubai College Microfinance Fund and pioneered their ESG screening processes to provide credit access to entrepreneurs in developing nations with rudimentary banking infrastructure. At Yale he has drafted literature on the Indian Banking sector’s long-term Economic Outlook post COVID-19 (published by the Yale Economic Review) under his mentor Dr Rakesh Mohan – Ex Deputy Governor of RBI. Along with this, Yash has worked on Social Networks and Data Pricing models with Professor David Gelernter and attended the United Nation’s 58th Session of the Commission for Social Development as part of an independent delegation. He serves on the Board of the Yale Undergraduate Diversified Investments group and Scholars of Finance Association and is the Head Consultant for the Yale Chapter of the Global Research and Consulting group. He has previously worked on projects for the Asian Development Bank as well as the Government of India in the MSME digitization space. Bhansali is a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, was a former advisor to Finllect – a middle eastern Fintech startup that has just closed their series A funding round, as well as being the Co-founder of a Yale based startup that connects students to on campus opportunities!
